Just a quick observation, as this really bugs me, and illustrates further how low we can go. While looking at headlines this fine day, I spied a photo of Obama, skeet shooting at Camp David last summer. The accompanying article made a point of assuring us all that the president does indeed enjoy shooting a gun in his leisure time. How very comforting, right?
I find it sickening that we would stoop to this level of pandering in order to pacify the gun lovers and of course, the mighty N.R.A. Obviously, we non-gun owners are vastly outnumbered. Except maybe here in Hawaii, where gun ownership is far lower than on the mainland. Once again, I am disgusted with the priorities of the U.S.A. Or lack thereof.

It was rather appalling to see the president with a gun. Who cares if he skeet shots at Camp David? That we are even having this discussion, while the planet is facing a climate crisis annoys me to no end. Our country is doomed.

back on topic. him acting like he appreciates guns is bogus. yawl find if appalling and i find it deceptive. he, like all federally elected officials, is a political beast first and a person second.

I suspect that you, Q, may utilize your brain more than the average yokel. That might be the line that separates you from the idiots.. That said, I am sure you know that lots of people have been "packing heat" when they were shot and killed by crazed murderers. Which makes you one of the lucky ones, if your gun has indeed kept you from harm. Thanks for your input here.

GLEN ROSE, Texas (AP) — A Texas sheriff has told local newspapers that author and former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle has been fatally shot along with another man on a gun range. The Star-Telegram reports that witnesses told sheriff's investigators a gunman opened fire on the men, then fled in a pickup truck belonging to one of the victims.

I wasn't raised around guns but they were also no big deal either; I had a toy cap gun. My fiance' is an avid hunter and my now deceased ex-h bought me a revolver for target shooting.
